Simple Shapes in Art

For this art exercise I asked students to identify the shapes in a character. They choose the Oogie Boogie character from Nightmare Before Christmas. In this exercise I had them focus on breaking down the character into shapes. They were able the basic shapes used to create this character, like triangles of different sizes. After that we rounded off the entire figure and added our details, erasing as we went along.
