I found this book on Amazon, it had really great reviews. Plenty of visuals and tips. There are no step by step instructions more like best practices.

It was an interesting introduction to beginner character design. It helped me decide if I wanted to pursue designing my own characters or hire an artist.

The visuals are so yummy too…so it’s also a good book to have it you like to just look at some really fun art. My students always ask me about this book.
